Rooftops Canada Board

 

Rooftops Canada - Abri International is managed on behalf of its Canadian partners by a Board of up to ten directors elected to three-year terms. The current Board members are:

 

President: Mike Alsop – CHF BC
 
Mike served for six years on the Board of CHF BC, one as President. He works for CANA Management, a housing co-op management company, as Maintenance Administrator.
 
Vice President: Jo Ferris-Davies - At-Large
 
Jo is the Director of Member Development and Education at the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA). Her career in social housing spans more than thirty years including 13 years with Houselink Community Homes, where, as Executive Director, she developed over fifteen properties. Jo has also been an active volunteer with CISV, an international children's organization, Palmerston School Day Care and Keith Whitney Homes.
 
Secretary/Treasurer: J. Hugh Landry - At-Large
 
Hugh is the Proprietor and Executive Director of Convergence Consulting Solutions Atlantic. He has more than 20 years Canadian and international experience in economic, cooperative and small/microenterprise. This includes senior management experience with Coady International Institute and overseas assignments with the Canadian Cooperative Association.
 
Mark Aston - ONPHA
 
Mark is the Director of Fred Victor Centre and a Board member of the Ontario Non-profit Housing Association.  He has worked in the not for profit and supportive housing sector for the past fifteen years. He has also travelled to a number of developing countries and has witnessed first hand the challenges of providing housing, education and health services. 
 
Céline Carrière – CHF Canada – Ontario Region
 
Céline works for LSM Services as the manager of Coopérative d'habitation Lafontaine in Ottawa. She has seven years' experience in co-operative housing, including contract work with CHF Canada and CHASEO. Céline has also worked for Your Credit Union in Nepean. She brings youth, energy and a wide range of co-op experience to the Rooftops Canada board.
 
Kit Hickey – CHF Canada– Eastern Canada Region/NBNPHA
 
Kit is the Executive Director of Housing Alternatives in Saint John, New Brunswick. In 2004 she won the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) award for her outstanding contributions to cooperative housing. She helped develop ten co-ops in the Saint John area, and continues to deliver management services to nine of them.
 
Martine Hubert – CQCH – CHF Canada
 
Martine is a member of La Maisonnée housing cooperative in Lévis, Past-President of the Federation of Housing Cooperatives of Quebec Chaudière-Appalaches (FÉCHAQC) and President of the Quebec Confederation of Housing Cooperatives (CQCH). She is also a professor and coordinator of the department of Architectural Technology at Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon.
 
Menno Peters – CHRA
 
Menno Peters is the General Manager of Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation, a non-profit group that manages 30 inner-city buildings.
